| Analog channel | RX frequency, TX offset, PL tone, bandwidth, power, scan list. | Wrong tone or simplex/repeater direction reversed. |
| DMR channel | Frequency pair, color code, time slot, talkgroup contact, admit criteria. | Correct TG on wrong time slot, or wrong color code. |
| Zone | Logical channel grouping: OBX Repeaters, DMR Local, Hotspot, Travel, EMCOMM. | Channels exist but are hard to find in the radio. |
| Receive behavior | Promiscuous/digital monitor setting, RX group list, scan settings. | Radio transmits but appears silent because RX behavior is too narrow. |

Mamie 146.94, KDH 145.11, local simplex, regional repeaters, and net channels.
OBRA DMR
OBRA talkgroups, BrandMeister local access, NCPRN/PRN channels, and known training TGs.
Hotspot
Personal hotspot channels separated from repeater channels to avoid assuming the same TG behavior.
EMCOMM
Event simplex, AUXCOMM channels, Winlink support notes, and storm net references.
Travel
Common NC repeaters, statewide talkgroups, and analog calling frequencies.
Testing
Low-power test channels, dummy-load programming checks, and training-only channels.
